Field trips to historical and cultural sites allow students to expand their knowledge by offering unique perspectives. Students learn insights from campus guests who offer demonstrations and interactive lessons. Past visitors include a world-famous chef, professional coaches and officials, screenwriters and musicians. The opportunities children have for hands-on learning at Out-of-Door are endless.
Campus Visitors
ODA hosts guest presenters from a wide range of backgrounds, including national artists, authors, entrepreneurs, and ODA alumni. These campus visits expose students to new professions and ideas, and are chosen with ODA’s curriculum and Core Values in mind.
Field Trips
Team-building class outings, hands-on learning experiences, and explorations into marine science and wildlife preservation are all part of an ODA education. Our well-rounded student experience values lessons learned outside the classroom.
International Travel
Students in all grade levels have the choice to travel internationally on cultural immersion trips that incorporate history and service. Previous trips offered include China, Spain, Vietnam, and Italy. We know the world is a classroom and lessons learned by visiting other countries are incomparable.
Minimester
In the Middle School, three days toward the end of the school year is devoted to minimester trips. Students travel with their class, visiting historic landmarks and sites that bring what they’ve learned throughout the year to life.
