Spirit Day, one of Out-of-Door’s most cherished traditions, is a full day of friendly yet fierce competition, camaraderie, and school spirit. The highly anticipated event kicked off with a spirited student parade around the Thunder Stadium track before launching into a full schedule of Olympic-style games. From the eighth-grade obstacle course—where the White Team defeated the Blue Team—to classic competitions like minesweeper, handball, volleyball, kickball, capture the flag, musical dots, and water games, students showed enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day. The event culminated in the senior obstacle course, with a thrilling White Team victory, ultimately securing their win as the 2025 Spirit Day champions.
More than just a day of games, Spirit Day is also a celebration of community and giving back. As part of the event, students supported the Food Bank of Manatee by donating peanut butter and jelly—Blue Team members brought peanut butter, while White Team members contributed jelly. Thanks to the generosity of students and families, the service initiative was a great success.
With laughter, teamwork, and a strong sense of Thunder pride, Spirit Day 2025 was a joyful reminder of the traditions that bring the ODA community together.
We hope you have a fantastic Spring Break. We look forward to seeing you back on campus for classes on Monday, April 21.
