From High Ropes to Campfire Songs: Fifth Graders Strengthen Bonds at Circle F Dude Ranch

This week, our fifth graders embarked on an unforgettable leadership retreat at Circle F Dude Ranch in Lake Wales, FL, immersing themselves in an adventure designed to foster teamwork, resilience, and camaraderie. This highly anticipated annual trip encourages students to strengthen their problem-solving skills and grow through a variety of engaging activities.

The highlight of the retreat is the ranch’s Odyssey Course, a towering three-story high ropes obstacle that tests each group's ability to communicate and collaborate under pressure. Students work in teams to navigate the intricate maze of wires, ropes, and platforms, carefully strategizing how to help one another reach the other side. The activity not only requires physical effort but also emphasizes trust, encouragement, and creative thinking as team members cheer each other on and lend a steadying hand when needed.

Beyond the ropes course, the ranch offers a range of exciting activities that allow students to explore new interests and bond with classmates. From horseback riding along scenic trails to honing their precision in archery to s’mores around the campfire, each activity brings fresh opportunities for fun and personal growth.
